Will solid-state batteries be required in order to build the electric Honda Civic Type-R in 2023?

At this point, it is unclear if a solid-state battery would be necessary for a fully electric Civic Type R.

Compared to conventional lithium-ion batteries, solid-state batteries have

a higher energy density, quicker charging times, and greater safety.

They are a more recent type of battery technology.

They are not yet generally accessible for commercial usage and are still in the early stages of development.

On an electric Civic Type R or other future electric vehicles, Honda might opt to use solid-state batteries,

features, such as a 306-horsepower turbocharged engine, a six-speed manual transmission, and front-wheel drive.
